Mobile Technologies
Findings from the mobile technologies trial held last year will be available shortly. The trial looked at . Appropriate learning settings supported by mobile devices · Learning teaching perspectives from deployment into classrooms · Possibilities for creativity and innovation that mobile devices may afford 21st century learners Those considering purchasing mobile devices are advised to read this report. Management of devices requires a considerable workload and there are suggestions on how to try and reduce the load. Please contact Geraldine for support. State and National Scene2012 Queensland Schools Constitutional Conventions
The 2012 convention program will explore the theme "Should Australia become a republic?" Schools are invited to register a team of four senior secondary students to attend a convention. Students seeking election as a delegate to the National Convention must deliver a speech at the Queensland Convention they attend. The National Convention will be held in Canberra from 21-23 March 2012. Nominations for the 2012 Queensland Schools Constitutional Conventions close on 10 February 2012. Find out more . . . 2012 National Year of Reading The National Year of Reading will be delivered in Queensland through public libraries, schools and organisations holding special reading events throughout the year. National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) - Teaching and Assessing Writing Participants will learn how the NAPLAN marking guide is applied to student scripts.
