Version 3 of the Australian Curriculum is available for download via iTunes. Consultation on the draft Australian Curriculum materials for Students with Disability QCEC is seeking nominees who are interested in participating in a QCEC Reference Group for Students with Disability. This group will consult mainly by email, teleconference or on-line forums to contribute to QCEC responses on the ACARA Australian Curriculum materials for students with disability documents. If you are interested please send an email to Christine Masters including your contact details and relevant experience by Wednesday September 5. These will be forwarded on to QCEC on behlaf of the Diocese. Consultation opens on draft Economics and Business Shape Paper The draft paper, Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Economics and Business, has been released for consultation through 12 October. The draft Economics and Business shape paper proposes that the curriculum be underpinned by four overarching ideas: Resource allocation and making choices; Consumer and financial literacy; Enterprising behaviours and capabilities; and Work and business environments. Final Shape Papers for Health and Physical Education and Technologies released The Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education and Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Technologies have been finalised after public consultation and are now available on the ACARA website. These Shape papers will guide the writing of the Foundation to Year 12 Health and Physical Education and Technologies curriculum. Diocesan SceneTeacher Librarian Scholarships
The Master of Education (Teacher Librarianship) is a specialist degree that prepares teachers for professional leadership as teacher librarians in primary and secondary schools. The scholarships offered are an initiative of Catholic Education Services to sponsor a further cohort of five teachers to complete this degree through an Australian Library and Information Association recognised course. SketchUp Pro has additional, high-end, professional features and can be granted to schools under a statewide licence agreement at no cost. For HPE Week, Queensland schools can compete against each other in a set of daily challenges about the importance of HPE and healthy lifestyles. AITSL The Australian Teacher Performance and Development Framework and the Australian Charter for the Professional Learning of Teachers and School Leaders were endorsed by Education Ministers on 3 August 2012. Wellbeing Education Services Australia (ESA) is developing a tool kit to support schools to take a whole-school approach to develop effective student safety and wellbeing policies.
