Online materials to support teachers implement teh Australian Curriculum general capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities are available on the QSA website. Consultation opens on draft Economics and Business Shape Paper The draft paper, Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Economics and Business, has been released for consultation through 12 October. The draft Economics and Business shape paper proposes that the curriculum be underpinned by four overarching ideas: Resource allocation and making choices; Consumer and financial literacy; Enterprising behaviours and capabilities; and Work and business environments. Final Shape Papers for Health and Physical Education and Technologies released The Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education and Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Technologies have been finalised after public consultation and are now available on the ACARA website. These Shape papers will guide the writing of the Foundation to Year 12 Health and Physical Education and Technologies curriculum. Principals are required to observe the embargo on 2012 NAPLAN results until the Minister releases the test results. Once the results are publically released student reports can be sent home. QCEC response to draft The Arts A QCEC response to the draft Australian Curriculum The Arts F-10 has been submitted to ACARA. ACARA online consultation closes 23 September. Day for Daniel The Day for Daniel will be held on 26 October this year. Details on the website. ICT Literary Resources ACARA has released the 2011 National Assessment Program (NAP) ICT Literacy school materials. The materials have been designed to assist teachers to administer their own assessment and gauge student proficiency. Teacher Earth Science Education Program The Teacher Earth Science Education Program (TESEP) is designed to suport middle school teachers with professional development workshops, resources, teaching ideas and access to mentors. Details on the website. Qld Animal Ethics Committee The final round for 2012 applications is due 19 October 2012. Early submissions are encouraged. Have you completed your Activity Completion Report? Pathways Magazine Schools are invited to contribute good news stories and photos on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students or school communities for the next edition of Pathways magazine. Restrictions on Sport and Recreation Traineeships All Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) have been advised by DETE that the restrictions on registration of traineeship in Sport and Recreation have been lifted.
