Congratulations to Marita Cheng who has been awarded Young Australian of the Year for 2012. Marita was a student of St Mary’s Catholic College in Cairns and has been recognised for her efforts in encouraging young women to take up a career in engineering by establishing the Robogals program, which operates workshops in 80 schools across Australia.

Explicit Strategies for Reading Comprehension This workshop will describe, explain and demonstrate approaches to explicit teaching of reading comprehension strategies. Teachers can join the group and contribute useful web resources. Diigo is a social bookmarking site, which means that the collective bookmarks or favourites of this group can be accessed from any internet enabled computer by anyone with a Diigo account.
