6 April - 17 June Cairns Regional Gallery "A joyous visual celebration of the unique natural heritage of Far North Queensland. The exhibition showcases a selection of enchanting illustrations by ten highly acclaimed Australian artist/illustrators, whose books open children's eyes to the majesty of the natural world and introduce young readers to some remarkable creatures. The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive range of art-based activities for children. Creatures of the Rainforest Books Alive! The report by the Australian Academy of Science on the Status and Quality of Year 11 and 12 Science in Australian Schools has been released and it contains 8 recommendations. The report is available online. My Future: My Life My Future: My Life is designed to give students with a disability in years 11 and 12 at a Queensland Secondary School an opportunity for anyone to apply for financial assistance to help them with their transition from school to life after school. International Education The new Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Tuition Protection Service (TPS) will commence on 1 July, 2012. All registered providers will be required to pay an annual TPS levy from 2013. NAPLAN Access the QSA NAPLAN newsletter for April 2012. The Handbook for Principals provides information about national protocols and state administration of NAPLAN tests in 2012. Principals and participating teachers must be aware of their responsibilities for the administration of the tests.
